Common questions.

No — and not as a policy, but as a fact of how the app is built. Privlio has no servers and no accounts. Every contact you add is stored only in local storage on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded to us or anyone else, so there is simply no copy of your network for us to see, sell, or hand over.
Because Privlio stores everything on-device, the way to protect against losing your phone is to export a backup. From Settings → Export contacts, save your network as a JSON file somewhere safe. On a new device, use Import contacts to restore it. If you lose your only device without a backup, your data can't be recovered — that's the trade-off for keeping it entirely off the cloud.
Privlio is built by a Canadian company and respects Canadian law. But there is nothing for us to disclose: we don't run servers, we don't have accounts, and we never receive your contacts. A court order to Privlio would produce nothing, because we hold none of your data. Your network lives only on your device.
Any contact you mark as private moves into your vault, which is locked behind a 4-digit PIN you set in Settings. Vault contacts are hidden from your main list and encrypted on your device. You can also set a decoy PIN that opens a separate, harmless vault if you're ever pressured to unlock.
Completely. Because everything runs and is stored on your device, Privlio works with no internet connection at all — there's no server to reach. You can add, edit, search, and unlock your vault entirely offline.
The web app is available now at privlio.ca. Native iOS and Android apps are in development and will be available on the App Store and Google Play in Q3 2026. You can add the PWA to your home screen in the meantime for a native-app experience.
